There are so many games out there, many with good potential for machinima making. Despite this, Machinimas are dominated by the Halo and Garry's Mod communities. As much as I love watching both these games in machinima form, there's just so many other games that aren't saturated enough nor received enough love from players.
One of which is to see more Star Wars Battlefront 2 Machinimas, mainly because of the many player animations and it's simplistic modding capabilities. There's also a built in camera tool that works well for filming. Now onto the modding, the community can create new maps or create new game mode types that support machinima making. Such as being able to play as any unit regardless of it's supposed faction.
Another game would be the PC version of Left 4 Dead 2. The reason why is because it's capable of being modified to support 16 Player Survivors with different player models as well as design/modify maps within the game. Same goes for controlling the Zombie spawn system. This would also be a good choice due to the game having a built in recording tool, known as Source Recorder(Oh right. the game has smooth/good animations for the player models).
What games would you like to see?

Wait, there's a camera mode in BF2? I'm intrigued... Yes, there is. You have to download a mod for it though and it's only on the PC version. I am actually working on a Star Wars Battlefront 2 Machinima series myself.

I am actually working on a Star Wars Battlefront 2 Machinima series myself. I once made a Star wars republic commando machinima on the Xbox version (using the spectator camera, then used sony vegas to crop the rest of the video out) I forgot what I did with it though (I guess I'll buy it again to make a machinima out of it) You can also make minecraft machinima's on the 360 edition now, since you can hide the hands and HUD.

There are rarely any Republic ommando machinimas out there, I only found 3 O.o It's surprising that not much people knew about the spectator camera in the multiplayer. That and the fact of your customizable clone trooper or Trandoshan would lead to some interesting results (but sadly there isn't much maps)

I didn't even know Republic Commando had multiplayer, then again I never had a chance to play the game. You learn something knew everyday Seriously though, it'd be awesome to see more Star Wars Machinimas out there(A clone apart, anyone heard of that?).

It's funny, one of my first machinimas was a ripoff of the Republic Commando book series. I would love to be able to do that for real.
On another note, did Call of Duty machinima ever take off? I was affiliated with a channel that claimed to specialize in hosting Halo and CoD videos, but only Halo videos ever got notoriety.

There's a few short films for Call of Duty that comes out every now and then, but Call of Duty machinimas never really took flight. The only Call of Duty machinima that actually made a jump was Retaliation.
