Here is a tutorial on how to a good sounding helmet effect in audacity. If properly done, your voice should sound like the guys in the video below.
Steps:
1. Open up audacity and make a recording of your voice.
2. Highlight your recording and click on Glame Bandpass Filter.
3. If you selected the correct effect, there should be three options. Enter the numbers shown below into each box.
4. You're done. Repeat the effect again if necessary.
Required Plugins: LADSPA and Nyquist
